WR Accepted: January 22, 2009!
The World Race adventure is on! In November 2008, I came across the World Race mission trip while doing an Internet search for short-term mission trips. The 11 month journey around the world to 11 countries peaked my interest to apply. Why? Because the World Race is an unique opportunity to further
God's Kingdom on this earth and to share my
faith, talents and skills, and gifts of encouragement and service with others around the world. The World Race may also give me an
opportunity to build a network with organizations around the world to
further God's Kingdom through medical missions. Once I finish medical
school, I would love to concentrate my time doing medical missionary
work, partnering with the organizations that I work with in this World
Race mission trip or with their sister organizations in other parts of
the world to further God's kingdom on this earth. I hope the impact of
this trip for my future would most importantly deepen my love and
intimacy with God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son. Through my deepened love with God, I hope to have a
fuller heart of compassion for the salvation of His "image bearers"
(people of every tongue, tribe, and nation) and to boldly minister
where God sends me.
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not
believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not
heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how
can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful
are the feet of those who bring good news!'" (Romans 10:14-15).
What an
honor it would be for me, as the apostle Paul said in 1 Thessalonians
2:19-20, to present the nations who received the message of the Gospel
before our Lord and King Jesus Christ: "For what is our hope, our joy,
or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus
when he comes? Is it not you? Indeed, you are our glory and joy."
Now
follow me as I share with you my daily adventures in preparing for,
arriving to, and enduring through the World Race. I'm excited about
this awesome opportunity and my hope is that you will be too!
